From the Desk of Fr. Billy

Dear People of Resurrection,

I come to you with exciting news.  I want to let you all know that it looks highly probable that we will be hosting The Progress School on our campus for at least the next two years.  This school is a charter school and uses alternative methods in education to help kids achieve academic success and learning.

The goal is to have them move in the middle/end of July, so that they can be ready for school to start in the Fall.  It has been a true joy working with the Bishop's Committee on this project, and we came to a collaborative decision during the process.  The school people are excited and grateful for the space and will be a nice weekday addition to our community.

While the school will have no religious affiliation with The Episcopal Church or any other denomination, it fits our mission as a congregation, to be a place where people make authentic connection and know they are loved by God and neighbor.

I ask for your prayer and support, and I welcome any questions you may have about this decision.

Yours truly,

The Rev. Billy Tweedie

Vicar to Episcopal Church of the Resurrection

School Supplies Drive
The Episcopal Church Women of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection invite you to join us in a School Supplies Drive beginning July 27, 2015 and ending August 23, 2015. We are asking for your help.

Many school age children will not have basic school supplies due to today's economic conditions. We are conducting a School Supplies Drive and are asking for your cash (or check) donation. Your donation will help to buy school supplies in bulk. Please note on your check, "School Supplies Drive." If you wish to make a cash donation, please place in an envelope addressed to "School Supplies Drive." Checks and envelopes may be placed in the offertory during each church service

We appreciate your generosity with this endeavor.
Thrift Shop Shopping

If you've been thinking about a shopping trip, consider the ECR Thrift Shop. It's all stocked up with plenty of clothing, men's women's and children's. There are household goods, toys, greeting cards, and the bookshelves are full of lots of good reads, and our friendly volunteers will be happy to help you.
