March 2015

Congratulations New Guest Services Volunteer Mentors!

Volunteers are the heart of our House and we would not exist if it were not for volunteer support.  This is especially the case when it comes to our front line customer service providers, the Guest Services Volunteers.  In order for this group to provide the quality services our families have come to expect, we must provide them with the appropriate training and tools.  This would not be possible if it were not for our Guest Services Volunteer Mentors who do a large portion of the training.

Please join us in thanking ALL our mentors for their role in welcoming and training these valuable volunteers.

  Mission Moment

Dear Staff and Volunteers,

Being able to not worry about where to stay during Aaron's 7 hour brain surgery was such a blessing.  You took away that fear and allowed us to focus on our son during this trying time.  After the 14 hour day of check-in, surgery, post-op and recovery, we walked through the doors to find a hot meal welcoming us "home".  Even through it was only a few days, we are so very grateful for your hospitality.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK You!

Esther, Andrew & Aaron Roswell

Look Who Was Caught Rolling Out The Red Carpet

Cindy Hutchison, Guest Services Assistant Manager, caught Naomi Dart demonstrating cooperation, communication and teamwork.

Cindy wrote; "Naomi was instrumental in getting a room ready when a guest left and was unwilling to clean it.  We spent 45 minutes cleaning, replacing bed enclosures, mattress pads, cleaning the trash can, unclogging the drain, etc.. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help out.  She has been a huge help working over her shift to help cover one that has been open for quite some time.  She is truly appreciated!"

Thank you Naomi!

Beth Johnson, Chief Operating Officer, caught Lori Ball demonstrating cooperation, communication, teamwork and professionalism.

Beth wrote; "On Friday, January 30th, there was a glitch in internal communication.  A large service group from Target Stores arrived at 10 a.m. for their project.  Because of the communication glitch we were not expecting them and weren't prepared.  Without missing a beat, Lori jumped in and after consulting with our housekeeping staff, had the group organized and ready for a project - even going so far as to lug buckets of water up from the basement!  The volunteers from Target never realized that we were caught off guard.  Thanks to Lori's professionalism, cooperation and teamwork, this group of volunteers had a smooth and productive experience at the RMHI!"

Thank you Lori!
