Louisiana Century Farm Program Seeking Applicants 
     
For the second year, the Louisiana Century Farm Program is preparing to recognize and honor Louisiana's farmers, ranchers and forestry landowners who have owned family farmland for 100 years or more.

"Flying home from a family trip to Washington State, I had a window seat of the significant drought our state is dealing with. So dry, so many normally productive fields lay idle," says Jim Morris, left, Communications Manager for the California Rice Commission (CRC).

The CRC exists to support the 2,500 growers and handlers of rice in California. It helps the industry in areas of conservation, legislation, public education and regulation.
