DEC 4: Night's Out Lights Out |
Please join Girl Scout Troop 62424 on Friday 12/04 from 6pm-9pm wherever you are, for an evening to conserve energy and reduce our carbon footprint!
We are 4th and 5th Grade Girl Scouts, and we want to save energy so we created Night's Out Lights Out! It is a way to raise awareness that the USA leaves too much of a carbon footprint! We would like you to participate by not using electronics and turning off all your non-essential indoor and outdoor lights.
You can also change your lightbulbs from incandescent to compact fluorescent lights and unplug chargers that are not in use.
We hope that most of the world can participate in this Starry Night Sky Event. You can help us change global warming!
Please participate in this event and invite all of your friends, to help us make the world a better place!
Thanks,
Kristine Adona (Aubrey Sumi, 5th)

DEC 7-11: Volunteer for Inclusive Schools Week!
|
Mark your Calendars, our Miraloma family will be celebrating Inclusive Schools Week, December 7 - 11th!
For those of you new to the celebration, Inclusive Schools Week is an annual, nationwide, K-12 celebration of our efforts to promote and build inclusive, welcoming school communities that embrace and support people of all natural and diverse abilities, and sociological and cultural backgrounds. At Miraloma, ISW gives students additional tools to deal with feelings of inclusion, exclusion and differences, to build on our ongoing social-emotional strategies, and to support our bully-free curriculums. Parent help with ISW is very much appreciated and needed. If this sounds like a program you'd like to be a part of, please check out the ISW parent opportunities below:
- 5 - 8 volunteers to assemble ISW necklaces for the kids (Thanksgiving week)
- 4-5 parent volunteers for the Kinder's vision disability workshop (Monday December 7th 10-11am)
- 1 volunteer to help the authors with media set up for their assembly (December 9th 9am)
- 6 - 8 volunteers to help Hospitality Lead Katherine Shedrick with the ISW potluck set up and clean up
And please join us Wednesday December 9th, 6pm - 8pm for our annual ISW POTLUCK! Please bring a dish to share - ideally one that celebrates a family tradition - and sit down for a fun meal with your Miraloma Family.
