FINAL EXAM WEEK ADVICE PRINC
As we push into the final week of the first semester, we thought it would be helpful to provide some advice to help our students and maybe some of you navigate the next two weeks in preparation for the much needed winter break. While this isn't an exhaustive list, the hope is to share some ideas on how our students could best manage their stress as we head to the finish line of the first semester:
  • Study a little bit each day and don't stay up late; you need to get your rest and cramming never helps
  • Study in manageable chunks of time; take lots of breaks
  • Take breaks during study sessions to clear your mind
  • Join a study group
  • Make sure you know the help sessions and resources your teacher provides
  • Make a schedule for each class; set aside time to study for each class
  • Eliminate distractions like social media
  • Get enough sleep every night
  • Stay hydrated
  • Eat a good breakfast every morning
  • Study in manageable chunks of time; take lots of breaks
  • Come prepared with all of your needed supplies for the specific class and final
  • Be confident in YOUR ABILITIES! Believe that if you do your best you WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!
If your child is not sleeping well or has noticeable signs of stress, please do not hesitate to contact our teachers, counselors, or administrators who are available to help.
BAILEYSAVANNAH BAILEY NAMED RECIPIENT OF CITIZENSHIP AWARD MEDAL
Savannah Bailey, Milton High School senior honors student and scholar athlete, is the recipient of the Bronze Good Citizenship Award Medal. The Piedmont Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution announced Bailey as the recipient of this prestigious recognition and medal in November acknowledging her as a patriot and citizen of outstanding character. Savannah was presented with the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal and certificate at the November, 21, 2015 "Salute to Veterans" celebration of the Piedmont Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. The Bronze Good Citizenship Medal was authorized in 1895 and recognizes persons whose achievements are noteworthy in their school, community and state. The outstanding high school student must exhibit outstanding citizenship, leadership and scholarship. Savannah Bailey exhibits all of these and was recognized for her dedication, patriotism and unwavering commitment to the memory of the victims of 9/11, including first responders, ensuring the almost 3,000 are never forgotten. Savannah has led the 9/11 Memorial at Milton High School for the last three years. President of the Piedmont Chapter, Bill Kabel, stated "the Bronze Good Citizenship Award and Medal are held in the highest regard and are only bestowed on someone truly deserving of this high honor; Savannah Bailey is such an individual and patriot." Savannah reflected on the 9/11 memorial and all that it has meant noting "it is critical that we never forget the lives lost on that tragic day in 2001. The freedoms we have in the United States of America have come at a high price and it is imperative that all of us, young and old, always give thanks and remember those who have sacrificed so much. We have a responsibility as citizens to remember and to give our best as so many others have done to protect our freedoms".

ARTSHWSTUDENT ART EXHIBITION
We are pleased to announce a new exhibition in Gallery72. Value Vortex is a show curated by two of our seniors, Joelle Osta and Allison Griese. They chose the content, display and text for the exhibit.
VALUE VORTEX
Black and White artworks from 1961 to 1968

CURATED BY MILTON SENIORS:
JOELLE OSTA
AND
ALLISON GRIESE

DECEMBER 7- JANUARY 31ST
The artists featured in this exhibition specifically ignored color. Color is a powerful element of art that can either enhance a piece or take away from other elements present. The absence of color emphasizes the form, intense values and elegant lines of these artworks while changing the way we interpret them.
