My Very Latest Visit to Wild, Wonderful West Virginia!
It was a wonderfully intensive 8 presentation visit to the Wheeling, WV area. As usual, all the schools were well prepared for my visit, and the students were both receptive and responsive to the difficult subject of the Holocaust. Great questions were asked.
Barb Lewine and me.

On the Sunday evening of our arrival, November 1st, I was privileged to speak to a large  assemblage for  "Classrooms Without Borders" in Wheeling - an organization that connects teachers and learners to people who have some worldly experience. Of course, my subject was the Holocaust. Many thanks to CWB Director, Barb Lewine, who was my incredibly hardworking contact person.

Additional venues included The Linsly School, Triadelphia Middle School, the beautiful new eco-friendly Cameron High School, Paden City High School,
Brittany Springer and me.
Hundred High School, Long Drain School, and the 1,200 students at John Marshall High School. Brittany Springer was my able and conscientious contact person for the many schools involved. Bob, Brittany's husband, and her delightful parents, Tammy and Ardith Cecil, schlepped us (drove us) far and wide to the beautiful countryside of WV.

We were lodged in the immaculately clean,
Front Desk, Brandi Edwards and
Hotel Manager, Joan Grubler
comfortable and extremely hospitable Sleep Inn Hotel in Moundsville. On the last day of my talks, at John Marshall High School, Joan Grubler, the manager of the Sleep Inn Hotel, came to the school to see what I was all about. When she saw the 1,200 students jump to their feet for a standing ovation at the end of my talk, she said to me, "This whole weeks' hotel bill is on me. The schools will not be charged anything for this stay." WOW- What a beautiful gesture on a part of this hotel as a community service! Thank you! Thank you!!

In addition to my contact people, I am indebted to all the various schools Headmaster, Principals, Assistant Principals, Teachers & Staff for making this an outstanding and memorable visit.

Hugs,
Marion
