Woodridge resolution on the Youngstown Plan: a sample for other district boards of education

The Youngstown plan is one that has the potential of putting the charter industry in Ohio on steroids. It is designed to allow an appointed emperor to charterize entire school districts.

The $71 million federal grant the Ohio Department of Education received to expand charters relates to the Youngstown Plan, which is actually an Ohio plan to charterize school districts. The Youngstown Plan is the most potent strategy to privatize public education ever enacted in Ohio. It must be resisted in every way possible. A good first step is for boards to adopt a Woodridge-type resolution.
