Tom Farmer, Chapter PresidentSEASON'S GREETINGS FROM YOUR CHAPTER PRESIDENT

Tom Farmer

As the song says, "It's the most wonderful time of the year" because the Lower Great Lakes Emmy® Awards "Call for Entries" has been released. OK. I suppose that song may be referring to something else taking place this month, but the words fit for one of the most anticipated times of the Emmy® year.

In keeping with the gift giving spirit, the Lower Great Lakes Chapter is once again offering an early bird discount for all members who get their completed Emmy® Entry in before December 31st. So, if you haven't done so yet, now would be a good time to renew your membership in NATAS and encourage others to join. The benefits of membership can be a great cost saver especially around Emmy® entry time.

Our Awards Committee and Board of Governors took a number of your suggestions when creating this year's "Call for Entries" making it the most category-filled ever offered in the chapter's history. More information about the "Call for Entries" can be found later in the newsletter from our VP and Emmy chair, John Stealey.

As we wrap up 2015 I want to extend a few "Thank Yous" beginning with those of you who took the time to participate in the Emmy® judging process this year. Our Emmy Awards Administrator, Bob Hammer, indicated that the Lower Great Lakes Chapter is considered one of, if not THE best chapters in meeting judging deadlines.

I would also like to thank our Board of Governors and staff. Your commitment to scholarship, the awards process (including college and high school) and our members, continue to make the Lower Great Lakes Chapter one of the finest in all of NATAS.

Finally, special thanks to all of you, our members. Your support of the chapter not only serves to improve the Emmy® process, but helps us maintain the integrity of the highest award in television.

I hope that you and yours truly enjoy, "The most wonderful time of the year." Happy Holidays from all of us at the Lower Great Lakes Chapter of NATAS.
