BUDGET INCREASE FOR NYS CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE
In this year's New York State budget, state officials have increased funding for the Centers of Excellence. As a result the CBLS and UB's Center of Excellence in Materials Informatics (CMI) will each receive  $1M in operating funds  to continue driving innovation and accelerating economic development in our region.

In a time when budgets and funding levels are being held steady and in some instances even decreased, this boost is a phenomenal testament to what the Centers of Excellence have accomplished with limited funds.

A special thanks to the WNY delegation, the Cuomo Administration and the legislative staff for their efforts on our behalf. Their recognition of the value of these tech-based economic development entities will enable both the CBLS and the CMI to further expand engagement with out industry partners, to drive innovation and economic impact.

Cilck here to see how we are successfully collaborating with bioinformatics and life sciences industries to grow the economy.
