Climate for Women at UCSF
What should UCSF do to create more/and better leadership opportunities for women?  This was the question posed to participants in a survey prior to the Eye Opening Conversation on the Climate for Women at UCSF.  The answer, as one would predict, is not an easy or obvious one. By Anda Kuo, MDRead more...
Land Ho: Retreat Advances Bridges Curriculum
On October 16th, I attended the "Land Ho!" Bridges Curriculum retreat, the latest of several retreats advancing the Bridges curricular redesign as it moves closer to full launch in Fall 2016.  Dean Talmadge King, MD , opened the event, acknowledging the core UCSF missions of taking care of patients, catalyzing an era of new knowledge, and educating the next generation.  He remarked that, "My job is to find the resources you need to do your [teaching] duties, so you don't do it for free, like I once did."  ~ Amin Azzam, MD, MS

TickToC: An Education Article in a Minute
RaDME sponsors a monthly  Table of Contents (ToC) Review meeting. Members each review an issue of a medical education journal and present highlights to the group. This serves as a cooperative way to keep up with the literature without each person having to read each and every journal. Occasionally, a member volunteers to write a very brief synopsis of one relevant article, making scholarly work even more accessible to busy faculty. We share those with you in a feature called: TickToC: An education sciences article in a minute.
Register for Teaching Observation (TOP) Course
This workshop introduces the essential elements of effective feedback, and provides an opportunity for participants to hone their own observation, evaluation and feedback skills, through the Teaching Observation Program (TOP). This course is strongly recommended for AME members interested in becoming TOP mentors or those who want a refresher on the TOP program. Involvement in the TOP program can go towards AME service. The course is on February 1, 3-5 pm at the Parnassus campus.  Register now online.
