A Message from Supervisor Ally Miller |
Today, at the Board of Supervisors meeting, members of the public were in attendance to speak about the item regarding the vote to release the County Attorney's opinion on County Supervisors using their office budget money to make donations to various charities and outside organizations.
When it came time to vote on the item, the Board moved swiftly to approve releasing the County Attorney's opinion. Chairwoman Bronson would not allow members of the public to speak to this item. Then, during the call to the public, Bronson quickly ended the meeting, leaving members of the public yelling and screaming that they had not had a chance to speak - even though they had completed speaker request cards. There has never been a time when a citizen has been denied the opportunity to speak.

On Tuesday, October 21, 2014 I will be placing an item on the agenda for discussion and vote regarding the Goldwater Institute's letter mandating we change county policy to stop giving tax dollars to outside organizations or face further legal action. I encourage you to share the above video clip with your friends and try to attend the meeting on Tuesday.
Everyone deserves to have their voice heard and Supervisor Bronson should not be allowed to block the public from addressing the Board because she doesn't want to hear their thoughts on the misuse of taxpayer monies.
As always, thank you for allowing me to serve you; if you would like more information or have questions/comments, please contact my office (520) 724-2738 or send me an email at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Ally Miller
Supervisor, District 1
