"My WISE Project motivated me to want to do well. My grades went from 60's and 70's to 80's, 90's and 100! I am now in college, pursuing a degree in psychology."
Kristina Rodriguez, WISE 2015
Dear Friend,

WISE changes lives.
Your support shapes the next generation.

The impact of the WISE Individualized Senior Experience Program is time-proven and research-validated . Our organization exists to help schools provide life-changing experiential learning opportunities to students to prepare them for the world beyond high school. Please donate today.

This is an exciting and pivotal time for WISE.

When WISE students like Kristina share their stories with us, we are inspired to work even harder. This year alone:
  • 1,500 students participated in the WISE Program.
  • 1,000 mentors supported these WISE students.
  • Over 10,000 volunteers supported the WISE family of schools.
Our recent achievements have opened doors for expansion to new schools and to a greater number of students.

No coincidence.

It is no coincidence that a third of our current board members are WISE Program Alumni. They have experienced, first-hand, the transformative power of the WISE experience. As a result, they are dedicated to the continued expansion of WISE Services, knowing that with your help, they can share the highest quality WISE opportunity with more students and with more schools.

Spanning generations, from founders and teachers of the WISE Program, to WISE alumni, to parents of recent WISE students, the leadership of WISE is strong, visionary and committed to youth.

Follow the Leader(ship).

"My WISE Project, which included an internship at Universal Weather & Aviation, stretched me out of my comfort zone toward a meaningful career. Today, as CEO of Universal, I often reflect on how WISE was truly the defining moment of my high school experience, helping to navigate me to live one of my passions every day." -- Ralph Vasami, B oard Chair

"Through WISE, I learned what I didn't want to be when I grew up. As a child, I dreamed of working with animals as a career. Fortunately for me, I got real hands-on experience in WISE and learned immediately that I was on the wrong path. I changed my focus for college and beyond and pursued a career I thoroughly enjoy." -- Susan Somersille Johnson, Board Secretary

Kristina's Story:

My WISE Project, "Under the Scars", was an exploration of depression, a subject that has affected my life and that I am very passionate about.

Encouraged by my WISE mentor and school counselor, my WISE Project motivated me to want to do well, to become something, to stay on task and to look to the future.

"I was always 'happy'... I was the light of my school.

But the people who smile the most are the ones that cry themselves to sleep."

WISE is a really good way to get your word out. The program gives you a place for self-expression. When I presented, it was a very emotional, amazing experience. I made some people cry, I moved some people. My dad got emotional. I did, too. So many people came up to me afterward.

I learned that there are a lot of kids in school that suffer from depression, and often no one knows. I hope to become a psychotherapist so I can help them."
