Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent -teacher conferences are scheduled next week, Monday and Tuesday, November 23 and 24. Classes are not in session on those days. Thanksgiving break is Wednesday - Friday, November 25 - 27.   Sign up for your conference time here.

Parent Association: Meeting Date Change 
T he Parent Association will meet next on Thursday, December 3. (This evening's meeting was postponed.) The morning meeting begins at 8:15 in the Farmhouse Boardroom. The evening meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in Mezzalingua 7. The agenda can be found here.

Community News
 
Food Drive 
Z-Club is organizing a Jell-O Box Drive at MPH to participate in a food drive organized by the Syracuse Zonta Foundation. The Foundation will deliver holiday baskets to 4,000 families in need this December. Z-Club is hoping to receive 8,000 boxes of Jello during their collection which continues through December 7. Donations, made at the Front Desk, are much appreciated. 
 
Student Performance
Senior Violinist, Kathryn Kovarik, will be performing the Third Movement of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor with the Onondaga Civic Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, November 15. The concert will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Atonement Lutheran Church in Syracuse.

Project Smiles - Last Chance to Donate
The MPH varsity girls' soccer team is still collecting items for Project Smiles, an organization that helps orphaned girls in Colombia. Donations are being accepted at the front desk and Hum 7 through November 16. An array of items are needed, from bath and grooming products to socks to pens and pencils. 
 
Concert Opportunity
The Syracuse Youth Orchestra (SYO) and Syracuse Youth String Orchestra (SYSO) will present a concert on Sunday, November 22, at 3:30 p.m. at West Genesee High School.Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students ages 6-18. Admission for children under 5 is free. Tickets may be purchased at the door. The Syracuse Youth Orchestras consist of some of the most talented middle and high school student musicians from across Central New York. Six MPH students in grades 6-12 will be performing.

Middle School 

Middle School Social - tomorrow evening
The Movie Night Social is tomorrow, November 20, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Students are welcome to stay on campus in After-Hours* or return to school at 6:30 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided during the movies. Students can bring blankets and pillows. Movies are G or PG. Students should be picked up in the McNeil lobby at 8:30 p.m. Students who participate in movie night may wear pajamas to school.

15 REASONS NOT TO BE IN A PLAY by Alan Haehnel is a "play about not being in a play," ironically expressed through a hilarious series of monologues, duets, and ensemble scenes, from early traumas involving a glory-seeking elementary school teacher to possible disturbances in the global climate. 
 
Performances are December 11 at 7:30 p.m. and December 12 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Junior Parent Invitation
On Thursday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m., Junior parents are invited to check in with college counseling. The meeting will be held in the dining room.

More on S.T.E.M. for Upper School Students 
In consultation with Dr. Peter Plumley, Exhibits Project Manager at the Museum of Science & Technology and Research Associate Professor in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Syracuse University, the MPH Science Department has designed guidelines and structured a support system for sponsoring MPH Upper School students in the Central New York Science & Engineering Fair (CNYSEF). CNYSEF occurs Sunday, March 20. The Science Department will work with any student expressing an interest in developing an independent STEM project.
