Our 2, 21 Days of Yoga was a success!

3 Week Therapeutic Reboot
This special class really helped our group of 13 wonderful yogis. We practiced thyroid activating postures and breathing techniques and learned about yoga lore. Based on feedback, the most important part of the program for everyone was the sugar detox. It truly had an impressive effect on all of us. We learned so much about the potential for healing our bodies with dietary changes. Some of the good benefits students experienced are: clear skin, help for type 2 diabetes, and weight loss.  The most fun part of the program for everyone was having daily, healthy, homemade lunches together.  The group really got to know their fellow yogis and built community together through sharing and food.
This 15 class program can be taken multiple times!

How Full is Your Bucket?

Are you a bucket filler or a bucket dipper?
    ___________________________________________________
I read this wonderful book about how we can have a positive effect on other people in our lives by simply making an effort to fill their buckets!
I highly recommend reading this book or simply add the idea of bucket filling every day! Give it a try and see how happy you and others will be! ~Christine
Positive and Negative Emotions
Clifton's theory says that each of us has an invisible dipper that we can either use to fill other people's buckets with positive emotions by saying or doing things that increase their positive emotions, or dipping from others' buckets by saying or doing things that decrease their positive emotions. The theory also explains that when we fill others' buckets, we also fill our own, and likewise, when we dip from others' buckets, we diminish ourselves. A full bucket gives us a positive outlook and an empty bucket poisons our outlook. We make the choice every moment of every day whether we fill one another's buckets, or dip from them. These choices profoundly affect our relationships, productivity, health and happiness.
Carol McCloud wrote a children's book based on this concept.

Why Retreat?

by Erin Sweeney

Right away I found the idea of going on retreat easy to understand. Since the first time I heard about it, however, I've noticed that many don't fully realize the power of a personal retreat. When I go on vacation with my family it's about my family.  Not that I don't have fun, but my focus is on them, being with them, and caring for and loving them. I've joked for years about coming back from my family vacations needing a second vacation.

Retreat is about loving yourself. Remember, you can't love anyone else if you don't first love yourself - fully, unconditionally, without judgement. It is possible to see and love even your flaws, to give to yourself whatever it is that you want, to listen to the voice of your needs and dreams. And it is much easier to do all this when you are on a retreat, after all those things are the focuses of retreat.

I'm so blessed to have been able to go on an annual yoga retreat with Lara Heimann from yoga stream for the past three years.  These are the times I recharge and tap back into my personal goals but even more so right now, these are the times I get a break from caring for others and can care for myself.  Thank you Lara for making a special experience for me, yet again!
