ST. JUDE'S BACK PACK PROGRAM FOR 2015

Items and funds are being collected for the St. Jude's Back Pack Program.

You may deliver to the Chamber Office, bring to Chamber events or call Diane Roberts at (830) 980-5666 or (210) 213-4319 and she would be more then happy to come collect it. Items needed are all school supplies that would be for ages K-12. Any and all new items accepted.

If your business has coin purses, pencils, pens, cosmetics mirrors, pencil sacks, graph paper, spiral notebooks, crayons, markers, red pencils (we never can find enough) and lots of notebook paper.  All are appreciated and go to a

child in St. Jude's Ranch for Children Home.

It is our goal to fill 40 back packs again this year as that is what the Ranch houses. It is always a good way to start the New Year off right with new items for each student.

42nd Annual Presidential Wreath Laying Ceremony

Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10:00 am
LBJ Ranch - 1048 Park Road 49 - Stonewall, TX 78671

Each year, on the president's birthday, the sitting president sends a military representative to present a wreath at the grave of President Lyndon B. Johnson.  Mrs. Johnson started to host short ceremonies in 1973 and the National Park Service continued the tradition after her death in 2007.

The public is invited to join military representatives from Joint Base San Antonio and the National Park Service for a ceremony of remembrance.  This year, the keynote speaker will be a student from Texas State University who will offer his understanding of LBJ's legislation on young Americans.

The day will offer the unveiling of new exhibits and a new orientation film in the ranch airplane hangar visitor center.  All fees are waived for the day.

Contac Bonnie Jenschke at 830-868-7128 x 226 for more information or visit  http://www.nps.gov/lyjo.
