Update on Empowering Women Period
We are excited to announce that the sanitary pad mini manufacturing machines have a new design. The new machines are
efficient, easy to operate and cost effective. With an improved process, the machines make better quality sanitary napkins and instead of 2,000 pads a day, we can now make 2,500 pads and employ 20 women!

One time donations or subscriptions go a long way to support girls and women!
Subscribe to a small recurring monthly donation to support at-risk girls. Consider
donating today! Your $12 per month donation will support 8 school girls. We are currently writing a grant for the Kenya mini manufacturing site and your donation will support girls in India or Kenya.
Alternatively, if you would like to make a
one time donation, you will support VV's future biodegradable manufacturing plant in Kenya.
Any donation is greatly appreciated as we work towards our goal of making a truly sustainable impact on the lives of girls in developing countries. Thank you for your support!

Summer Highlights
It's been a busy summer and I am excited to share some of the highlights with the VV community! I also want to invite you to contact us to volunteer in a village program and meet our remarkable partners and their empowered communities. Thanks for all of your support!
Shana Greene Founder and Executive Director |
We're thrilled that the drilling for Namunyak Maasai Welfare released a gush that will provide sweet, sweet water for the hundreds of precious children housed in the dorms of Sirua Aulo Academy (SAA) and to th
e community. Securing the water for the community is a huge relief. Now VV and Emmanual are seeking support to acquire a water pump and adequate piping, which will enable easier access to the water.
If you want to help see this project to the finish line, click here, select "Namunyak Maasai Welfare" in the drop-down menu, and make your tax exempt donation today!

Earthquake Update: Rebuilding Mountain View Eco Farm

Govinda hard at work rebuilding a wall |
VV wants to give a big thank you to the generous donations from so many and a grant from Global Giving. Govinda and his family are rebuilding their home and farm after the devastating earthquake that struck in April of this year. The entire family and their adorable baby son, Siddartha, are now safe and dry in a closed-in structure and ready to continue the work on their permaculture farm, Mountain View Eco Farm. They would love to welcome volunteers!

We often get calls from worried parents about their child going to Africa or Asia. It's hard to imagine sending your child off to foreign lands, not certain whether they are even going to be picked up at the airport. Parents need not worry. Village Volunteers' mission is to curate well planned, comfortable, SAFE and above all, meaningful experiences. We are excited to share a note from a mother that means the world to us:
|
Leah with children from Pathfinder Academy |
I can't express my satisfaction and joy with Village Volunteers for the experience that Kara, Shana, Joshua, Wendy and Emmanuel all provided for Leah. Her experience was beyond amazing due to all of you folks who helped her along, made sure that she was safely met at the airports, escorted her from site to site, provided her with beds and meals and safe drinking water and allowed her to gain insight into other cultures, other worlds, other people [...] the personal touch, love and caring that she found at each stop in Kenya helped her make strong and personal connections to so many people during her stay in Kenya. It truly was a life-changing experience. My sincere thanks for all of the work that you do.

Anthony's hard work paid off! |
Anthony, a resident at Ryvanz Mia Children's Home, has held a special place in volunteer Kailey Morin's heart since they first met in 2010. Anthony's goal to enter into higher education is now finally being realized. In the last year after post-secondary school, he has been working
at Mama Esi's sister's hotel,
and insisted his small earnings pay for his own application fees for college. We are excited to announce that Anthony has
been accepted into a Computer Science diploma program at the University of Development Studies in Tamale, Ghana
. Kailey has
raised enough money to fund Anthony's education and VV will wire it to him as needed. Congratulations, Anthony!
