MOTHER NATURE NEGATES NEED
FOR GOLF OUTING TEE GIFT

The recent 27th annual Harold and Margaret Moser Golf Outing, for Financial Aid at Saints Peter and Paul School, benefited from a beautiful fall-like day. Although all participants received a school logo umbrella as a tee gift, courtesy of Pete and Holly Krug, everyone was happy to put it in their golf bag and leave it there throughout the round.

Twenty-two fivesome's descended upon the Naperville Country Club golf course on Monday, September 14. From 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. they were treated to a spectacular day of golf as well as having access to the driving range, a tasty lunch, on-course refreshments, sunshine, a pit stop at a Taco House, carts, 18 holes of golf, three hours of cocktails, camaraderie, and dinner. Best of all, there was no waiting and everyone completed their round in a fairly typical four and a half hours.

Following dinner, school principal, Karen Meskill, thanked all of the golfers, and expressed her gratitude to everyone for assisting families who would otherwise have to withdraw their children from Saints Peter and Paul School.

Our pastor, Fr. Milota, then read a letter from a school family that had received assistance from an earlier outing. "It quickly silenced the room and brought the purpose of the Golf Outing into focus," said co-chair Bill Hayes '84. "Listening to the gratitude of a family that was helped by the money this event raises more than compensates for all of the work that has gone into these outings for the past 27 years," added co-chair Bill Blum '88.

Chicago Bulls pre and post-game host, Steve Kashul, served as emcee for the Live Auction after dinner. Premium bids were received for Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawk, and Notre Dame tickets, as well as for opportunities to golf at the Butterfield, Medinah, and Hinsdale Country Clubs.

"We are grateful for the response of golfers, sponsors, and auction and raffle donors," said both Bill's. "Because of them we raised $87,000."

Assisting the two co-chairs were committee members Brad Drendel, Nick Gabrione, Pete Krug, Heather Hayes, Ryan Kubacki, Kim and Jim McMahon, Joe Schrom, Bill Waight, and Joel Wallin.

"Our school is extremely fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers," said Advancement Director, Frank Glowaty. "They are great role models for their children as they demonstrate a willingness to help those who are struggling to meet their financial obligations. This attitude is typical of those mothers and fathers who sit on Leadership Boards, chair fundraisers, coach athletic teams, and give of their time in a myriad of ways."
