Sonitrol, INC

Sonitrol, Inc is a security system company that prides itself on their latest technology to ensure the best possible security for their customers. Located in an old saddle shop, they wanted their furniture to highlight the characteristics of the building's architecture while reflecting their use of technology through modern accents. 
 
Designers sought to update the space and provide workstations that allowed employees to maximize efficiency. Haworth Very task and side chairs are seen throughout the building, matching the the color scheme of the carpet and paint. Lacasse desks with grigio finish were used in the private offices and Hon was used to build the workstation desks and panels.

About the Cause: 

American Cancer Society is the largest voluntary health organization in the US and the largest funder of cancer research. Their goal is to eliminate cancer as a major health problem through research, education, advocacy, and service. ACS encourages people to stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back. They provide incredible 24/7 support to patients including an information center, patient lodging programs, rides to treatment, support for appearance related side effects, and online communities. The organization even offers one-on-one support through their on-site locations in hospitals and strives to connect patients with clinical study treatments. ACS not only aims to aid those in the US but also internationally, collaborating with other cancer-related organizations throughout the world.
 

Getting Involved:

American Cancer Society has been a great resource for me and my family. We have suffered multiple losses from cancer, including my mother who recently passed away. ACS has provided me with a tremendous amount of information and support. I have gained an education on pre-cancer screening and preventive measures to decrease my risk of cancer as well as details on how to fight back.

Double Chocolate 
Zucchini Bread

Summer is the best time of the year for so many wonderful reasons. My favorite is summer produce! Try something new with your squash and whip up this simply delicious double chocolate zucchini bread.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 cups shredded zucchini
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee powder
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Productivity has been known to decrease during the hot summer months while you're daydreaming of the beach. Incorporate summer activities into your work day to reduce a loss of productivity and increase your mood.

1. Walking meetings- Instead of sitting in your stuffy conference room while the sun is shining, try holding walking meetings. Stretch your legs and enjoy the weather while getting down to business with your colleagues. Try walking around the block or even holding your meeting on a picnic blanket outside! 

2. Dress Down- If your work permits casual attire or even casual Fridays try enjoying shorts, sundresses, and short sleeves!
