Nov 9 P&Z Workshop/Meeting News -
Hillwood Proposes New Development &  Entrada Update
Westlake growth is certainly apparent as Granada's (Phase I) custom homes are well underway and Entrada's grounds continue to change each week.  In addition to this activity along our Davis Blvd/FM 1938 corridor, development on another tract of land may soon begin to the west along the SH 170/SH 114 interchange!  Hillwood unveiled a new mixed-use development at the Nov. 9 Planning and Zoning Commission Workshop that could bring another exceptional corporate campus to Westlake plus much more. The following information is intended to give our residents a summary of the information received at this week's Planning & Zoning workshop/meeting as a courtesy for those not able to attend.
Hillwood Unveils Proposed New Development at SH 114/170
The concept plan of Hillwood's proposed 128 acre site shown Monday night may include, at total build-out, a possible 4-5,000 employee corporate client (identity yet to be revealed), urban living units, mid-rise office space, retail, hotel/hospitality, entertainment venues, and a specialty grocer - zoing entitlements already included on this PD 3-5 site.  The new high quality development plan, with access to Turner Lake, will be pedestrian orientated with superior landscaping, sidewalks and recreational friendly hike-and-bike trail connectivity, all while respecting the beauty of the
Circle-T land site. Hillwood added that this development would progress in planned phases (possibly 5) as driven by development and/or corporate client needs.

For visualization, developers showed commissioners images of comparable venues such as Sundance Square in Fort Worth and other highly respected and successful developments. The Westlake development would have an overarching Texas-town theme, using materials such as glass, metal, steel, and native stone for simple architecture. Spaces will include tree canopies, outdoor seating, outdoor dining, all with well-integrated forms of telecommunications.  You may view the developer's presentation here.

Hillwood plans to present additional information regarding this proposed development including the potential transferring of development rights from other Hillwood planning areas at the December P&Z and Town Council meetings.   Please be sure to watch for meeting notifications and related agendas.

We encourage all residents to s tay informed and plugged in by attending Town meetings and follow our updates via the Westlake Wire, Town of Westlake website (agendas & minutes), and our social media accounts.  Please follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook
Entrada Update
Entrada developers gave an update to commissioners at the Nov. 9 meeting which included renderings of what developers called "the best looking CVS in the country, perhaps in the world!"

The presentation included background information on the Entrada development, where we are in the process, and the critical items that will be coming before the P&Z and Town Council for approval in the coming months.  Click here to see the presentation shown at the meeting from the developer, which includes more renderings, maps, site plans, and a general project update.  You may also view the brief staff summary provided to P&Z commissioners here.
