International Association of Approved Basketball Officials Fall Seminar Slated August 17-20 in Denver

As high school, prep and youth sports programs struggle with escalating concerns about safety and sportsmanship, concussion, trash talking and violent confrontations during games, one of the world's largest basketball officials organizations keeps its members aware of their legal rights and responsibilities.
That's why Alan Goldberger, the attorney for
the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, Inc.("IAABO") will be telling the refs - and those who train the officials -- about "Lawsuits Waiting to Happen: A Cautionary Tale" when rules interpreters gather for the association's Annual Fall Basketball Seminar in suburban Denver, Colorado next month.
Goldberger, a partner in the Summit, New Jersey law firm of Brown Moskowitz & Kallen and the author of "Sports Officiating: A Legal Guide," travels the country to address groups of officials, athletic administrators, coaches and other sports industry personnel on managing risk and legal issues in sports.
Attendees at the IAABO conference will include Rules Interpreters and leaders of local IAABO "boards" from about 38 states and provinces.
