Getting to Know Podiatry
During the first week of August, NYCPM once again introduced a select cohort of undergraduate students to the exciting opportunities available in podiatric medicine. The 12 participants in our Pre-Health Internship Program, from all over the U.S., were active learners; they participated in hands-on workshops, talks and mini-sessions with many College faculty, staff and students.

Pre-health interns show off their molds after working with
Dr. Loretta Logan in her casting workshop.

The interns were introduced to many aspects of podiatric medicine, including suturing, anatomy, gait analysis, podopeds and sports medicine, among others. They also had opportunities to travel to private practices in the city and to shadow DPMs, as well as to visit Lincoln Hospital to observe their rotations.
