Now, don't let the mild snow-free winter we had last year fool you into submission. You have to remember the previous winter when we had a foot of snow in early February. It might not snow every winter, but it can snow a lot when it does. Every fall we prepare for a severe winter because if we don't, we couldn't provide the service our customers need when the snow falls.
As we prepare, so must you. Our service requires pre-storm signup and agreement of a mobilization fee if you want plowing. It takes a lot of preparation and coordination to provide the service thus these requirements. Without fail, the snow starts to fall overnight and if we don't have equipment mobilized, we cannot get it out to sites when needed.
We believe we provide the best winter weather service in the Portland/Vancouver Metro area out of our 3 offices: Hillsboro, Sherwood, and Parkrose. We provide sidewalk shoveling and deicing, parking lot plowing and sanding, as well as parking lot deicer pre-treating. Our priority of service is for our maintenance service customers. As maintenance customers, you can sign up for any or all of these services and can designate whether you want them provided on weekdays or all days including weekends. We monitor weather throughout the winter and recommend you allow us to make the determination on when to deploy, but leave you the option of making the call. We do, however, give priority to those who designate us to make the call.
As mentioned, if plowing is desired, we will charge for mobilization when plowable snow is predicted as getting equipment to site must be done prior to the storm. Unfortunately, the mobilization fee is required even when the forecast is wrong and snow does not fall.
We also have begun to provide deicer pre-treating, but only do so if plowing and sanding is also ordered. Pre-treating with deicer only prevents black ice or heavy frost and is ineffective if snow falls.
Remember, we offer preferential pricing and priority service for maintenance customers who order service before November 1st. If you have questions please call your Area Manager to discuss.
