This week's gymnast of the week award goes to our pre-team starlet Hana Nemcanin! This young gymnast has attended her practices this week with a positive attitude and an infectious smile. Hana has dreams of joining the competitive program just like her big sister Nina! This week Hana worked on her back handspring on Floor and handstands on Beam.

Great job this week Hana and keep up the good work!

Skill of the Week

Back Handspring

A tumbling move where a gymnast takes off from one or two feet, jumps backward onto the hands and lands on the feet. This skill can be done as a step-out skill (the most common method on beam) or landed on two feet. Round-off back handsprings are the basis for almost all back tumbling skills. Back handsprings are also called a Flip-Flop or Flic-Flac.
Back handsprings and round-off back handsprings are a real milestone skill for gymnasts
