My kids, like many Rhode Island children, headed back to school last week and although they may not have wanted the summer to end, they were excited to start a new school year.
As parents, we all want what's best for our kids. As your Governor, I want to make sure that each Rhode Island child has every opportunity to pursue their dreams.
Over the past week, I highlighted the progress we are making in our state by visiting kindergarten classrooms at Asa Messer Elementary School in Providence and Cottrell F. Hoxsie School in Warwick; launching the new
Ocean State Grad Grant to help recent grads buy their first homes in Rhode Island; and celebrating
Rhode Island's Promise, a scholarship to tackle the gap between their financial aid package and the actual costs of college.
We've made record investments in education and we are
creating opportunities for everyone.
Best wishes,
Gina
Governor Raimondo Remembers 9/11
On this 14th Anniversary of September 11, let's recognize that for many among us the pain inflicted on that sunny Tuesday morning is still very real.
And we must acknowledge the sadness of those who lost loved ones by lending our hands and our hearts in comfort.
In memory of the countless lives lost on September 11th and every day since then in the name of democracy and freedom, let's re-commit ourselves to making our country, our community and our families stronger and more peaceful.
Share Your Healthcare Experiences
Raimondo established the Working Group for Healthcare Innovation to help every Rhode Islander access high-quality, affordable healthcare and to bring greater predictability for healthcare expenses to businesses and taxpayers. In creating the final report to give to her, the Working Group would like to hear from the public.
