The weather may be bleak but Jersey Cares volunteers sure know how to warm people's spirits! After honoring the legacy of Dr. King on our 7th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, we are eager to keep the spirit of service burning bright in February. Join us in making New Jersey warm and wonderful!

365 Days of Volunteering
February may be the shortest month, but Jersey Cares has plenty packed into it, with engaging volunteer programming for all 28 days. The Volunteer Opportunity Calendar has close to 200 volunteer opportunities, so you're sure to find something that will fit your interests.
-
Mobile Meals in Paterson - Join us to serve hungry New Jerseyans from a mobile pantry by providing food to the many people who are unable to reach a community foodbank.
-
Donation Clean Up in Wayne - Spring is coming (hopefully soon!) so help us get a jump start on spring cleaning for items for sale at a thrift store.

Annual Events
Thanks for making MLK Day a Day On rather than a Day Off!
Last month, Jersey Cares volunteers contributed over 3,500 hours to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King by participating in Jersey Cares Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service projects state-wide. A big "thank you" to all of the volunteers who gave up their day off from work or school to lend a helping hand!
Visit the Jersey Cares website to explore ways you can get involved in upcoming events.

Corporate Corner
The Corporate Service team is ready for the new year after adding new project opportunities to their offerings. 2015 will include the most exciting and educational service yet with new projects promoting literacy. Volunteers can now create literacy kits that will make stories come to life through books, character puppets and vocabulary tiles. Each kit will be packaged in individualized totes so students can read everywhere they go. Also - through the creation of little libraries - parks, community centers, and school grounds can have a place for the community to share and expand their literary options. We are excited to see our corporate partners open the world of reading and creativity to students throughout the state.
