Variety is the Spice of Life...

This month we've spiced up our parts department, and we're sprinkling your newsletter with a variety of topics.

PARTS DEPARTMENT NEWS

There have been some changes in the parts department at WebPress.   Brian Hilsendager is transitioning to a more "hands on" assembly role with WebPress / Globe Machine, and thus will no longer be actively participating in parts queries, ordering, or shipping.

In his place, we are welcoming John Tragaser.  Many of you know John, as he was a long-time employee of Web Press Corporation, and as such, has an in-depth knowledge of both Atlas and Web Leader equipment.  He has worked in assembly and installation, and for quite some time was a co-owner of an outside business (TAR LLC) rebuilding used Web Press equipment.  We are pleased that John is stepping into the Parts Department role.

Please use parts@webpressllc.com as your default email for parts questions, quotes, and orders.  The online order form found on our website and user group can also be used.

INCREASE YOUR VOCABULARY: Quidnunc

1. A person who is eager to know the latest news or gossip; 2. A busybody.

Formed from Latin quid "what?" (neuter of interrogative pronoun quis "who?;" ) and nunc "now", to describe someone forever asking "What's the news?"

And now you have a great new word for using that "Q" in "Scrabble"!

GOOD TO KNOW:

We recently had a request for replacement wooden brake shoes.  Please note that all brake shoes are now metallic components.  Item # 11023810

Item # 090002 knife must be used as a set of 4.  However, our system is set up to price each piece individually, so when you order this item, your invoice will show that you have ordered 4 of them We now also supply a single-piece 20" knife (part # 090808) that can be used as an alternative.

WHY WE SOMETIMES ASK FOR SERIAL NUMBERS:

WebPress services and provides parts for machinery dating back to the 1970's.  Well maintained components from our very first installations are still in use at some locations.

As various models have been updated through the years, it is occasionally necessary to use machine serial numbers in order to verify that parts requested match your particular model specifications.

We sincerely appreciate your co-operation when we ask you to reference serial numbers or send us photos of a component in question.

ON A SIMILAR NOTE:

Although we try to keep a list of the known serial numbers for each customer location, components that were purchased through the used equipment market or transferred from another facility within an ownership group may not show in our system as being at your plant.

We kindly request that you update us with serial numbers any time you obtain WebPress brand machinery that was not purchased directly through us.

SAFE PRACTICES:

Please remember that guards are put in place for the safety of your employees.  Guards should always be "closed" and secured before running your machinery.

FUN FACT:

Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners, is one of the few Major League ballparks still using an old-fashioned hand-operated scoreboard in left field.

Contrastingly, their high definition video display system is the largest in MLB:  56.7' x 201.5' (11,425 sq. ft.).
