Mobilizing God's Army    -    Making a Difference in S*xual Addiction Recovery   MAR 2014

All I can say is, "Go God!"

We've stepped through the open door and ministry is sprouting...

it's SPRING!!!

As I write this I've moved and returned and am heading back to Chattanooga again with another return trip to Orlando on April 14th, I praise the Lord for prompting those that responded to the urgent request for funding my move back to north Georgia. Although I'm not staying in my home yet, but storing belongings downstairs and renting out the top, I've actually been blessed to stay temporarily down the street at a family friend's house while I raise the support to move back into my home and make renovations to live downstairs.

While in Florida for over two and a half years I've been blessed to share living quarters paying minimal expenses.  This time has been appointed and produced much fruit, but we knew it would come to an end.  Our Father has used increased family concerns and the recent passing of my children's father as confirmation and the impetus that the time to move is now.

Many doors have opened for major ministry collaboration in Orlando and He is doing the same in Chattanooga and elsewhere. Maintaining the work, task force meetings and training, in both central Florida, Chattanooga and in between will require traveling routinely back and forth.

The '92 Volvo below is currently being checked out to see if it would make the trips.  I've heard many good reports on the durability of a Volvo and with AAA roadside service, trustworthy mechanics and the Lord guiding my steps, we just may have a car that will haul training and display materials, Maxx and me too.

Now, let's have a CONTEST to give the car a name!  Reply to this email to enter.  The winner will receive a gift set of ministry merchandise!

 GROWTH  -  GROWTH  -  GROWTH

We have turned a corner and the ministry is gaining recognition and momentum.  In our first seven years we've come a long way and have made a difference.  Now, we eagerly look forward to the Lord connecting the ministry and opening more doors.  Few minister in sexual addiction recovery and we have this privilege.  Add to that being a founding member of a major human trafficking task force and our work is laid out for us.

SPIRITUAL LESSONS

LIfe's been challenging and at a heightened pace and intensity since last summer.  Family circumstances have changed and some challenges have presented themselves, but for the most part things have, or hold promise to smooth themselves out.

At Christmas, for the first time in 15 years, the kids were able to be with both their mom and dad without tension or stress. This was unfamiliar to all of us as adults, but welcomed. Sometimes it was awkward, but mostly it was nice. I sensed my sadness while taking pictures that along the way we tragically missed something and it had cost us dearly.

Mike and I were two people who, for many reasons, were unable to see eye to eye on many things, but within the last few months we were able to put most differences aside and relate for the good of our children.  We had discussed things in view of his cancer diagnosis expecting a possible battle with chemo, but that time was not granted. He passed on February 14th with many conversations left unfinished primarily for Jess and John.

For me, this stage of the journey started a year and a half ago with an awareness of a lingering grief that I couldn't explain. The Spirit would reveal that I've witnessed recovery's hard work, determination and discipline and its restoration of families, but for mine it was too late. I watch from a distance the Principles in action and see its sweet fruit and this drives me to carry the message.  Hope is there if we'll take it and lives do change, marriages can make it and families too.  I hold fast to God's promises to restore the years the locusts have eaten and that He's not finished and will make all things turn out for good because I love Him and am called according to His purposes, not mine. He is faithful, and I trust Him to make all things new.

I have a word from Oswald for this new season... it came out of My Utmost for His Highest on Feb. 22nd.  Be SPIRITUALLY TENACIOUS. God will prevail, and I will deliberately work on that certainty.   Here's to walking in the truth that I know.  Thank you friends for being on the journey with me.

Confident in Him!

"Through FMM CIAR Training God turned a slight inkling to take His healing power to other individuals with my background and fanned it into a flame.  It began to grow while participating in group and grew to lead me to my calling of becoming a Licensed Therapist and to inevitably get my PsyD in Psychology.  God used FMM and my story to put my life on a trajectory of continuous healing for myself and others through sound Christian truths and proven counseling principles."

TESTIMONIALS

After serving 10 years in prison, Randy realized that he needed to give back and share his story.  Randy registered for FMM's Core Issue Addiction Recovery Training and now facilitates a general addiction L.I.F.E. Recovery Group for Men and is a witness to many of the redemption of Jesus Christ.

Juli, came out of the gay lifestyle, was trained, coached and mentored by FMM to facilitate a L.I.F.E. Recovery Group for Women and has also started her own ministry to families affected by same sex attraction and individuals seeking recovery.

After a childhood damaged from sexual abuse trauma, Jenny had led a life coping with alcohol, compulsive sexual behaviors, cutting and workaholism.  Ready to move forward and address her past, Jenny attended FMM's training and started participating in a L.I.F.E. Recovery Group and now facilitates her group playing a vital role helping other women find hope and healing.

Sonya and Nick attended L.I.F.E. Recovery facilitator training years ago and through practicing the healthy intimacy skills taught in group they have successfully navigated through the many challenges marriages face in sexual addiction recovery.  Although statistically sexual addiction is the demise of many marriages, their relationship has been strengthened and is a godly model for their grown children to follow when troubles come.
