Lanzarote is one of the most fascinating volcanic islands in the world, and Club La Santa are offering a new holiday to experience that stunning landscape with a Walking Adventure Week, taking place 4th-10th March 2016.
Tours will stretch from La Corona in the north, to Uga in the south, and from Club La Santa in the west to the coast in the east. One particular highlight is exploring the fishing village of Famara.
The week is hosted by Lisbeth Mattiesen, a talented and enthusiastic walking enthusiast. Lisbeth is a trained physical education teacher, guide, physiotherapist and reflexologist. She has over 30 years of diverse teaching experience and has worked periodically at Club La Santa since 1985.
The hikes each day will vary between 2 and 6 hours, with ascents and descents between 100-400 metres. The Walking Adventure Week is for all ages and abilities, although it is recommended for those used to a brisk walking pace. The most important thing is having fun, whilst exploring the island and getting better at walking.
Everyone can hike, and it's a brilliant way to see the world whilst also getting healthier thanks to all that exercise. Walking uphill improves endurance and strength, and downhill helps with balance and coordination. We can't imagine many better places to hike than in Lanzarote's unique scenery.
The Walking Adventure Week sounds like a brilliant experience, and definitely one we'd like to try. You can find out more on the Club La Santa website - and don't forget to pack your camera!
