SURVIVOR!
"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." ~Philippians 4.13
Greetings Family of Faith, Body of Christ!
OK- here it goes- the honest TRUTH! I am in SURVIVAL MODE! Yes, we have been talking about THRIVE for the last three weeks... but me? I have barely been surviving. My joke- but it is no joke- is that I am simply working one day (even one moment!) at a time. This is not usual for me; I am usually about three steps ahead!
As I speak to many of you, I hear the same struggles, the same sense of being in survival mode from one day to another. The solution? Consider listening to the song THRIVE- let the words wash over you: (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ71RWJhS_M
)
What am I doing different this week to THRIVE? I am going back to the basics. I am starting each day with a time of prayer and meditation- I don't have time for it... but I don't have time not for it. Martin Luther is quoted as saying:
"I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer."
I am not spending three hours but I am taking intentional time... and I am finding that this is slowing me down and refocusing me. I am beginning to THRIVE in the midst of surviving. This is good news for this pastor, for this child of God! Peace on the journey...
THRIVE - with JOY and FAITH and LOVE!
