Greetings!

I just got in a rose from the south of France by Paul Jaboulet and a Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley from High Pass Winery, and they will both be on sale this weekend at extraordinary prices.  The sale will run from Friday 7/31 through Sunday 8/2.  Details are below.  Both wines are now available for tasting.

Also, here is the new schedule for upcoming wine classes, and info on the arrival of my Barolo.  The class with Steve Metzler is going to be really good.

Cheers!

Richard Kinssies

Sale This Weekend! Friday Through Sunday (7/31 thru 8/2)

2013 Paul Jaboulet 'Parallele 45' Cotes du Rhone Rose

                        market value to  $15
         Sale $9

            Wine Club Price $7

It's going to be hot this weekend and you're going to want lots of rose on ice... and you can't do much better than this one.  Jaboulet is one of the great wine producers in France's Rhone Valley and it is famous for its rose wines.  It is dry and crisp with lots of aromas and flavors of cherries and roses.

2010 High Pass Winery Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

                     market value to  $20

        Sale $10

           Wine Club Price $9

This mid-weight Willamette Pinot is the perfect summer red.  It has a traditionally light Pinot color yet has layers and layers of flavor.  It reminds me of cherries with a light touch of spicy black pepper.  Serve it with a slab of grilled salmon,  chicken or pork.  And it would be impossible to find a Willamette Valley Pinot of this quality at this price.  You really have to taste it to believe it.

2010 Richard Kinssies' Borolo
It has arrived!
Now available - $49
(Wine Club $39)

The 2010 Richard Kinssies Barolo has arrived from Italy. I will debut the wine at a release party in a few weeks (grilled lamb!) but meanwhile it is available for purchase.

Wines of Georg Beuer
with Steve Metzler
Monday, August 3rd
7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
$20

Georg Breuer was one of the most respected wine growers of Germany when he passed away in 2004.  At his estate in the Rheingau region, his dry Riesling wines and even his Pinot Noir (Spatburgunder) were sought after by collectors everywhere. The man who brought Breuer's wines to prominence in the U.S. was Steve Metzler of Classical Wines. On August 3rd Steve is going to lead us through a tasting of 6 Breuer wines and show us why they are are so special.  (Some of these wines are valued at $120 per bottle.)

I only have room for 12 people in the class so if you are interested don't procrastinate!

Other Upcoming Wine Classes

Wine 101
Monday, August 10th, 7-9 p.m.

$65 ($35 Wine Club Members)

Wine 101 - I wish I had a class like this when I was starting my career in the wine industry. Back then there were no classes available to learn the basics of wine. It took me years just to figure out how to approach this vast and complicated subject. That is why I created this class and why I believe it is so important to anyone trying to understand wine. I will break out the different areas of study and give an overview of each along with advice about how to begin your studies.
