The Lexington Forum invites you to joins us at the Commerce Lexington Special 'Link' at the Legends
Commerce Lexington Inc. and the Lexington Legends are partnering to help you "hit a homerun" with your networking this Summer. The 'LINK AT THE LEGENDS' is a unique and fun way to grow your client base, while enjoying the sights and sounds of Lexington Legends professional baseball at the Pepsi Party Deck at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Tuesday, August 18, starting at 5:30 p.m. This networking event will follow the normal Business Link model as far as networking with other business professionals and making new business contacts throughout the community.
In addition, attendees will receive two complimentary beverages, a variety of ballpark fare and a view of the game from the Pepsi Party Deck (game tickets for seats outside of the party deck must be purchased separately). Game time is 7:05 p.m. Pre-registration is encouraged for this event, although a will call area will be available at a higher cost on the night of the event. Come out and enjoy a night of networking and baseball!
Pre-registration for this special Link at the Legends event is available (and encouraged) at a cost of $12 per person for CLX members or $18 per person for nonmembers. Check-in for the event will close at 7:00 p.m. Please stop by the Commerce Lexington registration table at the entrance of the park before 7:00 p.m. to pick up your beverage tickets and armband for the evening. Registration will also be available on game day, payable at the Will Call area at a cost of $15 for members or $21 for non-members.

LINK AT THE LEGENDS REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
- Networking at the Pepsi Party Deck, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- Two complimentary beverages. Cash bar available for additional drinks from 5:30 until the end of the game, with alcohol service stopped at the end of the 7th inning.
- A variety of ballpark fare, including hot dogs, chips and cheese, popcorn, and peanuts.
- View of the Legends' game against the West Virginia Power from the Pepsi Party Deck, which starts at 7:05 p.m.. (Seats outside the Party Deck must be purchased separately.)

The Decision in Motion" - SCOTUS Decision Regarding Same Sex Marriage
Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Mary Noble will speak on the recent US Supreme Court same sex marriage decision at our September 3rd Forum meeting. She will discuss the practical and legal consequences of the decision and how other statues may be affected by the decision.

Dr. Aaron Thompson Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer, Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education & Professor at EKU
The Lexington Forum presents a "Forum after Five" Discussion featuring keynote speaker Dr. Aaron Thompson. As the Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education in Frankfort, Dr. Thompson is at the fore front of how our educational system and the diversity that makes up our community blend together to shape our future.
An Eastern Kentucky native, Dr. Thompson has over 30 publications and numerous research and peer reviewed presentations on topics of conflict resolution, sexual harassment, racial profiling, leadership and more. Dr. Thompson has traveled the United States leading workshops, seminars, and lectures to educational institutions (elementary, secondary, and postsecondary), corporations, non-profit organizations, police departments and other governmental agencies.
Please join us on September 15th at the Lexington Public Library's Farish Theater as the Lexington Forum kicks off our evening series - "Forum after Five for this riveting discussion on Race Relations and our Community.
Dr. Aaron Thompson Bio:
Dr. Aaron Thompson has researched, taught and/or consulted in many areas throughout his personal career. He has over 30 publications and numerous research and peer reviewed presentations. Dr. Thompson is the President of Ripple Effects Resources, which develops videos for Human Resources training programs on various topics including: diversity, racial profiling, ethics, sexual harassment, leadership, conflict resolution and more. Thompson has traveled over the U.S. and has given more than 800 workshops, seminars, and invited lectures to educational institutions (elementary, secondary, and postsecondary), corporations, non-profit organizations, police departments, and other governmental agencies. He is the co-author of Black Men and Divorce, and college textbooks: Thriving in College and Beyond: Research-Based Strategies for Academic Success and Personal Development, Thriving in the Community College and Beyond: Strategies for Academic Success and Personal Development, Focus on Success, and Diversity and the College Experience. He is currently working on additional textbooks on the subjects of diversity and first-year college experience.
