Welcome to EFC-ER's Weekly Encourager. We trust that this will become a bright spot each week in your emails. The purpose of the Weekly Encourager is to provide up-to-date information about region-wide events, prayer requests, and helpful resources from the local churches.

at Brian's Steak House in South Hill, VA.   Check the website for details.

* December 11 and 12 
- Christmas at Malone
  presents Handel's Messiah at 7:30pm. Details to the right. Visit www.malone.edu for more information and to purchase tickets.

We trust that every church is sharing these prayer requests within their local prayer community. Here are this week's requests: 

1 -  Remember our pastors, spouses, and the EFC-ER staff as they gather for a time of fellowship and renewal at the Pastors' Mini-Conferences in Wooster, Ohio and South Hill, Virginia next week. 
2 - Please lift up Dave Aufrance (Hong Kong) who will have surgery to put in a heart catheter on December 1. His condition has been upgraded from moderate to serious, but they are thankful for a personal contact with a cardiologist in the government system. He will also need open heart surgery within the next few months so pray for an opening there. 
3 - Pray for Sue Reese (YM Missions Encounter Coordinator) as she prepares to have spinal surgery in January. Pray for the doctors and specialists and a quick recovery for her after the surgery. 
4 - Please pray for Christy Will (wife of pastor and military chaplain Michael Will) in the recent death of her brother.

Celebrating Stories with Friends!

Over the past several weeks,  Beloit Friends Church  was a relay stop for O peration Christmas Child boxes. Shoe boxes of gifts were packaged into cartons to be "relayed to the next stop in their journey to touch lives with the Good News of Jesus Christ!" This year Beloit donated 347 boxes as a church and 2,502 boxes came through their doors. A total of 17,222 shoe boxes were donated in their area! Thank you to all churches who participated in Operation Christian Child this year! 

Usher in the holiday season as the Department of Music presents Christmas at Malone. This much-loved concert combines Scripture and music in a joyful celebration of the Lord's nativity. This year's performance will celebrate the season with performances of Handel's Messiah and other Christmas favorites.
