THE TUNNEL IS OPEN!
Project crews were able to open the tunnel last night and this morning we got a first-hand look at the progress being made throughout the interchange area. Here's a few pictures of the tunnel from our tour with ODOT project manager Jason Haus.

View of the tunnel from westbound SR 32

View of the tunnel entering from northbound I-275

The tunnel will allow traffic from northbound I-275 to access eastbound SR 32 more directly by by-passing the traffic light at the end of the I-275 exit ramp. Once drivers adjust to the new pattern of traffic, this should ultimately help traffic move more smoothly from northbound I-275 traveling to eastbound SR 32, westbound SR 32 and to Eastgate Boulevard.
