Movement in Congress! Let Your Voice Be Heard!

The Microbead-Free Waters Act recently passed the US House Energy and Commerce Committee. This bill would phase out the production and sale of cleansing products containing microbeads, which are polluting our Great Lakes and may be entering our food chain. Contact your  member of Congress and let her/him know that you support a ban on microbeads!

Paul Darrow-The New York Times
You may have heard about FDA's recent approval of   genetically engineered salmon, which follows the earlier approval of a genetically engineered apple. WHE believes that consumers have a right to make informed decisions when selecting their food. The House passed a bill that would prevent states from passing mandatory labeling laws for foods that contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The Senate is now weighing its options.

Please  contact your US Senator today  and let her/him know that consumers have a right to know what's in their food and states should have authority to pass food labeling laws!
WHE continues to be thankful for the leadership and guidance provided by its Board of Directors. We are excited to announce that two new directors have been elected to the Board! Ms. Jody Mulvihill, recently retired VP of Finance at The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh (CI), brings a wealth of finance, accounting and compliance knowledge to our organization. Ms. Deborah Rohe is professional development manager for the Southwest Regional Key. For the last four decades, Ms. Rohe has worked extensively in the childcare field with parents, children, and administrators.  WHE welcomes Jody and Deb!
