Nick Stach with heart monitor
Hamilton 5th-grader Nick Stach uses a heart monitor provided through an LPEF grant. Students learn to keep heart rates in a healthy target zone.
Connect With Us
Let us give thanks:   30 families with children in one La Crosse middle school will have a Thanksgiving meal due to generosity of school staff and support from the La Crosse Public Education Foundation.

Staff members donated money to pay for the turkey or ham, and the school used money from its Random Acts of Kindness fund to buy remaining items for the family meals. Random Acts funds at each La Crosse public school are available to address the needs of individual students -- food, clothing, school supplies and other expenses -- to remove barriers to success in school.

With year-end gifts and other support from donors, LPEF provides about $22,000 a year for Random Acts of Kindness accounts at La Crosse schools.
