FY2016-FY2020 Strategic Planning Process

In 2010, the Delaware Division of the Arts conducted a statewide planning process to assess the effectiveness of its previous plan and reaffirm or modify the plan's goals as needed, in order to meet the evolving needs of Delaware and its arts community. The result was Design Delaware, a five-year plan spanning FY2011-FY2015.

Now, through an in-depth process, the Division plans to create a dynamic, visionary, inclusive and strategic new action plan that identifies and incorporates the ideas, issues, and initiatives of Delaware's arts community: artists, organizations, audiences, and educators. This new five-year plan, Design Delaware 2.0, will serve the Division's mission of "nurturing and supporting the arts to enhance the quality of life for all Delawareans."  The process will include a series of community meetings across the state this October, during which all Delaware constituents will have an opportunity to provide input.

Maren Brown Associates, with extensive experience in planning for state arts agencies, has been selected as the consultant to facilitate this process. Look for more information about the community meetings soon!

"She knows firsthand how art can open minds, transform lives and revitalize communities," Obama said.
