Project NIA needs your help. We do a lot with a little. We have a small budget and rely heavily on contributions of time and money from our supporters.
For our summer fundraiser, we need to raise $15,000. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed so far. We are halfway to our goal!
All donors who contribute over $25 to us this week will receive an 11 by 17 poster of art by talented artist Molly Crabapple.
Over the past few years, we've been releasing data reports about juvenile arrests in Chicago. Thanks to Project NIA volunteer, Eva Nagao, we are pleased to release a new infographic analyzing 2013 and 2014 CPS school-based arrest data.
Stay tuned next month for a comprehensive report about all juvenile arrests in Chicago for 2013 & 2014.
A number of Chicago groups have come together in the wake of Dante Servin's acquittal to organize a series of events during Black August that will highlight and lift up the stories and experiences of cis and trans Black women who are currently or have been targets of state violence. We have been privileged to organize several events as part of this month. We are especially proud of Blood at the Root, an exhibition that we co-curated with several others.
