Report on the Second Annual
Fairfax Wine Stroll - 2015
Fairfax's Mid-Summer Event Was Held on July 25th
"A fun event. We went into many shops and galleries we had never been inside (or even aware of) before, even though we live a little over a mile away. Wide range of wines, well run, well attended, nice crowd. Will definitely do it again. Two of these a year would not be too many. Thanks - Peter P."
With twice as many wine tasters as last year, the 2015 Fairfax Wine Stroll saw 300 eventgoers tasting vintages from 16 organic wineries at 14 locations around town. Live music and finger foods rounded out the offerings. A volunteer staff of 40 helpers, both behind the scenes and greeting visitors, assured that every aspect of the event ran smoothly.

Streets For People
Sunday August 30th, 10am-4pm
Streets for People is back for its fourth year of fun in downtown Fairfax on Sunday, August 30th, 10am-4pm. The downtown blocks on Bolinas Road will be closed to vehicle traffic and open to the community for live music, dancing, yoga, games, shopping, food and outdoor activities for people of all ages. The event this year will feature live music, hula hooping, dancing demonstrations, a street mandala, outdoor cafes, bubbles, games (and more!) in the street. The "Wellness Zone" in Bolinas Park will offer classes including yoga, dance, mind body fitness, tai chi, and, for the kids, story time with Miss Kitty. A new feature this year will be "Transit Alley," which will offer fun ways to learn about how to improve health and reduce traffic and greenhouse gases in the parking lot next to Mono Ave. Sustainable Fairfax, the Fairfax Chamber, the Fairbuck and the Town of Fairfax collaborated to bring this event to Fairfax. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: To sign up to volunteer for this fun positive and alcohol-free community building event, please find the Streets for People link at www.fairfaxvolunteers.org.
