We just received word from Taunya Lay, at Branson Ticket and Travel, that over 300 Santas and Mrs. Claus have registered to attend DS2016.

In addition, our Vendor Showcase Chairman, Santa Bob Elkin, reports that over half of the vendor booths for the convention have been booked!

Each week there seems to be something nice to announce about the Convention.  We do hope you enjoy these updates.   And if there is something you think we should feature in a future newsletter, please let us know what you are thinking.

The web site keeps changing and expanding.  It is our goal to have all details of the convention available for anyone to find.  Last week we added pages to enroll volunteers and chairpersons, plus an additional page for Workshop presenters to submit their proposals. Details are below.

A MESSAGE FROM VENDOR SHOWCASE CHAIRMAN, SANTA BOB ELKIN.

I know many of you are thinking about attending Discover Santa 2016, but you are also thinking.....July 6th, 2016, that is a long way off, and maybe it does seem like it is.

But, if you are interested in being a Vendor in our awesome Showcase, time may be a little shorter than you think. We currently only have sixteen of our 41 booths still open and available for you to choose the booth of your choice. And of the sixteen, only three choice corner booths are available.

Peruse the Vendor Showcase page:  http://www.discoversanta2016.com/vendor-showcase/

With over 1000 Santa and Mrs Clauses planning to visit our Vendor Showcase in Branson, you know you don't want to miss this show, so reserve your booth today, when the forty-one booths are gone, they are gone!

If you have any questions, or comments, please contact me.

SEARCHING FOR 100+ VOLUNTEERS AND CHAIRPERSONS

We have received many calls and emails from Santas and Mrs. Claus wishing to volunteer and assist at the Convention.  It is a known fact that the success of a good convention depends on the Committees, Chairpersons, and the many team workers that handle all the little details.

We will have over 100 volunteers who will be working on everything from registration, to Parade coordination, to the general sessions and workshops.

And volunteers should be rewarded for their work.  So, there will be stipends and special credits given to those who are working.  General Volunteers will receive a minimum stipend for giving us a few hours of their time to work on an event or handle a special task.

Depending on how many hours and events a volunteer works, that amount could go higher.

Chairpersons are also needed to be the Coordinators and Directors of select Convention Committees.  These Committee Chairpersons and any Co-Chairs will also receive compensation in the form of stipends, complimentary registration, lodging or a combination of one or more of these areas.

If you are interested in volunteering, or have some experience that would benefit the convention, please visit the web site and click on the link for Committees.

Fill out our form and we will have someone follow up with you.  Please give us a little time to do that.  If there is a special area you wish to volunteer for, you may let us know that too.  And if you have experience in a special area that might qualify you to be a chairperson or that might benefit the convention, please let us know in the comments section.

WORKSHOP APPLICATION PAGE NOW OPEN
One of the main attractions of a good convention is the information and education that the attendees take home with them.  It is also because of this information and education that the cost of attending is tax deductible.

We already have quite a few Santas, Mrs. Claus and other professionals offering to present workshops at DS2016.  We also know there are others also interested, but who have been waiting until we solicited their support.

We are planning on hosting between 40 and 60 Workshops at the convention.   It is our goal to have qualified presenters in each Workshop.  To that end, we are looking for qualified individuals, couples and teams that can teach or present a subject.

We want programs that have information and value to the Santas and Mrs Claus that attend.  If you wish to be a presenter, please fill out the following form.

If you are interested, please visit our web site and click on the link for Workshops.  http://www.discoversanta2016.com/workshops/

TOYS FOR TOTS OFFICIAL CHARITY
It is official! Toys for Tots, is the official charity for DS2016.  Arrangements have been made to contribute a small portion of each Convention registration as a donation to the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation.

On top of that, every convention sponsor will be making a very nice contribution as part of their signing on with DS2016.

Each year hundreds of Santas and Mrs. Claus donate their time to support the Marines in their mission to help those children less fortunate. And each year millions of children benefit from the work of the Marines and their volunteers at over 600 community campaign locations.

Welcome Toys for Tots!
