Day Two at DS2016

Thursday, July 7, 2016  -
This is a very special day as we will all participate in the "Parade of Red Suits," which will take place live at 8:00 a.m. for national broadcast!; followed by our group photo, lunch and the afternoon opening session.

Here is the current, tentative Itinerary:

5:00 - 5:30 a.m.  - Early morning "Wake-Up Calls" to all convention attendees.  There will be 'Cookies and Milk' (Coffee and Donuts) in the hotel lobbies for everyone.

6:00- 7:00 a.m.  - Charter buses will transport all Santas, Mrs. Claus and Parade participants from the hotels to Branson Landing for the "Parade of Red Suits"  Floats, vehicles and other units will set up the night before.

This is a short parade, 1/4 mile or less and is being done early in the morning at the edge of Lake Taney-Como.  It will be cool and comfortable, even in your Holiday wardrobe. (Ask those who were in the 2006 parade!)

8:00 a.m. - All parade participants, Autos, Floats, and celebrities will be in place for the start of the Parade.

8:30 a.m. - (Approximate) The Parade Begins.  This is being timed for airing on one of the national
morning shows. The parade route is only about 1/4 mile long, through  Branson Landing.  Celebrities from local Branson Shows will be on stage singing selected Christmas Songs, while the Santas, Mrs. Claus and participants march through the Landing. Discover Santa Parade Photo 9:30 a.m.  Following the Parade, everyone will move to the Town Center of Branson Landing, in front of the fountains, and we will take a "giant" group photo.  Photographers will be over 100 feet above the group in order to get everyone in the photo!

10:00 -11:00 a.m.  Box lunches will be handed to everyone as they board buses back to their hotel to change into more comfortable clothing, and get ready for the afternoon Opening Session.

10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Kringle Family Showcase with Vendors will open all-day at the Chateau for all who wish to shop.

N oon - 1:00 p.m.  Shuttles from Hotel to the Mickey Gilley Theater for our opening session.

1:30 p.m.  Opening Session of the Convention with a special guest speaker and presentations you won't want to miss.  And following the opening session we have special treat for everyone . . . .

3:00 p.m. Special private show featuring one of Branson's most popular groups, "SIX!"

4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Shuttles back to your hotels and then to Table Rock Lake.

Planning Committee to Visit Branson

On September 9 and 10, Members of the Planning Committee will be making a Pre-Convention Visit to Branson.   Simply called a "Pre-Con Visit," the purpose will be to visit the hotels and venues that will be used for the convention, and to assess all needs required for the convention.

Prior to this, only Santa Tim had been visiting the venues and now it is time to do more detailed inspection and planning for the Parade, workshops, vendor showcase and all of the events.

A second "Pre-Con" will be held next March, when more of the committee chairs will be visiting Branson and reviewing the venues again, and making final plans for the world's largest Santa convention.
Early Bird Registration ends September 3
Pre-register now for lower room rates.

On October 1, we will be adjusting the registration rates for our convention packages.   Of course anyone making reservations by September 30, and getting in some form of deposit will be guaranteed the Early Bird prices.  So you need to fill out your registration form today and talk with T aunya at B ranson Ticket and Travel.

Two years ago we began negotiating with the hotels, attractions and venues for blocks of rooms or seats and special rates. Basically we got agreements for the rates they were charging in 2014.  They gave us what we wanted, but with the provision that we do our bookings early, and make deposits to cover the registrations.

They also added that after September 30, 2015, they would need to adjust the rates to cover their 2016 costs.  Unfortunately they can't keep the room blocks on hold forever, nor hold seats at shows and attractions without some sort of reservation or guarantee.

So, on October 1, many of the registration packages will be updated to reflect the new rates they will be charged for everything.  So, if you are thinking of going to DS2016, register today.  And should you later find you need to cancel, don't worry we will get you your refund.

Or Call Taunya at Branson Ticket & Travel 800-432-4202
Chateau on the Lake room block Sold out
Vendor Showcase Sold Out.

We are just under a year away from DS2016 and we have already sold out of our 150 room block at the Chateau on the Lake.  They do still have other lake-view rooms available, but these are at slightly higher rates.  If  you wish to stay at the Chateau, please register as you normally would and select the Chateau.  Taunya at Branson Ticket and Travel will contact you to let you know what the rates are.

We also have 300 rooms at the Radisson Hotel and another 100 rooms each at the Lodge of the Ozarks and Stone Castle Inn.  And early bird registration rates are still available until September 20.  Register today on line or call Taunya.

Also, please know that we have sold all of our vendor booths for the Kringle Family Showcase.  There are still vendor tables available in the hotel lobby area and we will be meeting with the hotel in September to see if we can  secure more vendor space.
