I am a little late in sending out this week's newsletter, as I have been very busty the past two weeks, helping prepare for my daughter, Morgan's Bridal Shower. It was on Saturday and now that it's in the record books, we can look for ward to the wedding of Morgan and Jonathan on August 28.
So now it is back to work for me, and there is lots to do with only 400 days until DS2016.
Currently we are working on getting more rooms at our headquarters hotel and on securing some special sponsors for the convention. Details will come in the next few newsletters.

Santa Bob Elkin moving over to become Workshop Chairman
 Is it Chairman, or Chairperson? Well, in any case, I am pleased to announce that my good friend, Santa Bob Elkin, will be taking on the task of selecting and coordinating the workshops for DS2016.
Many of you know Santa Bob, and also know of his knowledge and experience in our industry.
Most recently he has been our Chairman for the Vendor Showcase, but as it is almost 2/3 sold, Bob wanted to be more involved in he convention.
As Workshop Chairman, Bob will coordinate the selection of the workshop presenters and the details for hosting almost forty workshops during the convention.
Once he has assembled a list of workshops and presenters, the list will be reviewed by the General Committee and then submitted to the attendees next January or February, to see which workshops those registered wish to attend.
More details will follow in the coming months. Anyone wanting more info on the workshops or who interested in registering to be a workshop presenter, can visit the DS2016 website and fill out an application to become a presenter.

Vendor Showcase is filling quickly. 2/3 filled.
You read the message above about Santa Bob Elkin moving over to chair the Workshop committee for DS2016. He will still be chairing the Vendor Showcase, but since it almost sold out, He will now have the time to handle the Workshops.
The Vendor Showcase will have some of the best Santa Vendors ever assembled. A lot has evolved from our first convention in 2006 when we had just ten vendors. Today there are more vendors catering directly to the needs of Santas and Mrs. Claus. And we hope to have the best of them.

Registration and Hotel Update as of 5/31/2015
We currently have over 350 registrations and are quickly consuming all of the rooms we have held at the Chateau on the Lake. When that occurs, any requests will be moved to the other three hotels. We still have over 500 rooms available.
We are in talks with the Chateau to obtain additional rooms in the Lake View side of the hotel, but these do cost more and they have not committed anything to us yet.
In the meantime, please continue making your registration, We will keep everyone posted on the hotel bookings. When and if we do get the new rooms we will contact those already registered to give them first option to upgrade to the Lake View rooms.
