Every week is another special task for DS2016.  This week it was drafting media releases and fact sheets for the publicity that we will be sending out, beginning in July,

In addition, I am trying to answer all of the emails from those wonderful individuals who have volunteered to be chairpersons or work on a committee.  Eventually this will be passed onto to someone else, but for now it is my job.

I also celebrated my birthday last week, taught school in Portland and am heading to Chattanooga for another school tomorrow.  Sometimes I don't know where to find the time. (P.S. Thank you to the over 250 who sent notes and messages for my birthday.)  And if you need to know, I am 67.

Last week we passed the 400 mark on registrations for DS2016.  And very soon we will reach the 500 mark, which is how many attended the first convention.  And we are still about 13 months away. We are looking at over 1,000 attending.

I am so glad that so many have taken advantage of the discounted, early-bird registration.   The earlier we book the hotels and venues, the better prices we get.  After October 1, some of those prices go up and therefore the registration fees will go up too!

So it is good to start your registration now.  Taunya, at Branson Ticket and Travel, can work with anyone on splitting up the payments and making your registration easy.  Just give here a call.

And as always, should you have a question about anything, please feel free to email me.

Santacerely,

Santa Tim Connaghan

General Chairman

Vendor Showcase is filling quickly.  2/3 filled.

You read the message above about Santa Bob Elkin moving over to chair the Workshop committee for DS2016.   He will still be chairing the Vendor Showcase, but since it almost sold out, He will now have the time to handle the Workshops.

The Vendor Showcase will have some of the best Santa Vendors ever assembled.  A lot has evolved from our first convention in 2006 when we had just ten vendors. Today there are more vendors catering directly to the needs of Santas and Mrs. Claus.  And we hope to have the best of them.

Registration and Hotel Update as of 6/11/2015

We currently have over 400 registrations and are quickly consuming all of the rooms we have held at the Chateau on the Lake.  When that occurs, any requests will be moved to the other three hotels.   We still have over 500 rooms available.  Remember that Early-Bird registration ends September 30.  After that the package rates will go up slightly.

We are in talks with the Chateau to obtain additional rooms in the Lake View side of the hotel, but these do cost more and they have not committed anything to us yet.

In the meantime, please continue making your registration, We will keep everyone posted on the hotel bookings.  When and if we do get the new rooms we will contact those already registered to give them first option to upgrade to the Lake View rooms.
