The P2 Results report is a collaborative project of the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable (NPPR) and the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx).   

 

These results demonstrate the value of P2 in not only environmental and natural resource conservation terms, but also in economic benefits. Use this report to highlight the good things companies are doing to improve the environment.  The P2Rx Centers prepared a press kit for technical assistance providers to use to help leverage their programs.


It contains:

-A press release for any local press outlet

-Suggested communication for your state environmental agency commissioner
-Suggested communication for your congressional representatives.

Exploring the P2 Connection: Toxics Reduction and Climate Change

This webinar will discuss interactions between toxic chemicals and climate change.

While we have long-acknowledged the impacts of toxic chemicals on the environment, discussions of their importance are often overshadowed by those of global climate change. Emerging studies increasingly explore the interaction between toxic chemicals and climate change, with initial studies suggesting that these two factors will exacerbate the effects of one another. Additionally, their interaction may decrease the amount of carbon successfully sequestered in the environment. This seminar will include an overview of how toxic chemicals and climate change interact and what their future impact may be. 

Presented by: Nathalie Folkerts. Nathalie is a senior Public Policy Analysis and Biology major at Pomona College in Claremont, California. Her intellectual and personal passion lies in exploring the potential of agriculture and food systems to build community and environmental resilience.

ADEQ's P2 Program Webinars

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Pollution Prevention (P2) Program hosted two webinars featuring examples of successful P2 goals implemented by a few of their program facilities. The reduction of hazardous waste generation and toxic substance use is a requirement of the P2 planning program. Currently, over 300 facilities participate in ADEQ's P2 program.  

Please view the recorded webinars to learn about methods that have been successful in not only reducing pollution at these facilities, but also have improved efficiency and saved money.

What Is Idling?
Idling is running a vehicle engine when it's not moving.
While some idling is hard to avoid, most idling is wasteful and avoidable.

 
Idling pollutes.
Each gallon of fuel burned emits about 20 lbs. of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas.

BE AWARE
Turn off vehicles when not moving.
