Join us for our third year of offering an in depth natural history course from a slightly new perspective. It is a monthly series of nature explorations with different local naturalists, each exploring a focused seasonal natural history topic. Over the course of the year, we'll visit a variety of natural habitats in the greater Valley area. Identification skills, ecological connections, adaptations, and life cycles of organisms will be the focus of our observations. Read about this course and register here

Michael researches the impacts of diseases in natural populations, with a main focus on fungi.  He loves discussing this diverse kingdom and the important functions of fungi in the environment.
Dan Ziomek, local birder and naturalist

Owls are setting up their winter and spring breeding territories right now.  And they do that by hooting or making other cool sounds in the night!  We'll learn what the calls of the different species sound like and then go out and see if we can locate them vocalizing in the dark.
