Charting a Course for 2015

Inland Seas Education Association (ISEA) is an incredible organization because of your involvement! As we set our sights on all that this organization has the potential to be, we would like to invite you to be a part of the planning. ISEA staff hosted the first seminar program of 2015 titled Charting the Course. We hosted this presentation on four different occasions because it was important to us to engage as many people as possible in planning for the bright future of this organization. However, we realize that this still didn't provide the opportunity for all of you to be involved, so we have also provided a recording of the presentation HERE

Of course, as technology goes, we had a few technical difficulties and ended up having to create two videos for the single presentation. This first video focuses on big picture organizational goals and was presented by Executive Director Fred Sitkins. ISEA staff presented data from the 2014 sailing season and laid out their individual work plans supporting the big picture direction of the organization in this second video. We hope you will take some time to watch these videos and provide your input to ISEA so together we can continue the critical work of this fine organization.

Volunteer Opportunities

Inland Seas has some big plans on the horizon and anticipates the need to expand our volunteer base to support those big plans. Our goal is to provide meaningful, enriching opportunities for volunteers to engage in our important work on a schedule that works for them.

One method of attracting new volunteers is through our volunteer open house on March 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the ISEA Education Center. Please invite a friend to attend this event to learn about the many volunteer opportunities available at ISEA.

Schoolship instructor training begins on March 18 at the NMC Water Studies Institute in Traverse City from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This training continues each Wednesday at the same time and location for five weeks. We also host an all-day session for those who would like to get everything in one day on April 22 from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the ISEA Education Center and Museum in Suttons Bay.

Crewmember training begins on March 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at ISEA's Education Center and Museum in Suttons Bay. This training also occurs weekly on Thursdays for five sessions at the same time and location.
