  • The ALC's first-ever Professional Development Series for Educators focused on the relevant issues in today's K-12 classrooms.
  • Meanwhile, sessions in this year's Future Focus Series tackled STEM education, diversity in technology jobs, environmental sustainabilityandstigmas in HIV/AIDS.
  • Emerging leaders enjoyed networking opportunities and participated in powerful discussions during the General Session and Instant Apprentice Luncheons.
  • Volunteers served breakfast and provided important health screenings at the annual Community Breakfast and Health Fair.
The ALC concluded with its culminating event, the Phoenix Awards Dinner. NAACP NC Chapter President, Rev. Dr. William Barber, II; Civil Rights Attorney, Fred Gray, Civil Rights pioneers, Juanita Abernathy and Dr. Amelia Boynton Robinson (posthumously), and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Incorporated were recognized for their positive contributions to the African-American experience.
