V(irtual) E(nvironments) PLN, Tonight at 8 PM
VSTE VE PLN will visit VIBE, Virtual Islands for Better Education, to see an archaeology simulation built by Nova Saunders. Nova would love to have teachers bring students to her sim. Come and see if this content is something you can use instructionally! VIBE is an Open Sim, not connected to Second Life. You'll need to install a viewer and additional directions can be found here

TODAY at 3 PM: Governor Terry McAuliffe will meet with students from Albemarle County, Fluvanna County and Charlottesville City today at 3 PM to talk about education reform and schools of the future. The Big Deal Books of Technology Newsletter helps VSTE members connect with grants, contests, resources, and more. Several grants and contests have deadlines in October. Check out the October 1, 2015, newsletter along with archives at the VSTE website.

Recognizing Excellence: Award Nominations Extended to October 9, 2015
VSTE recognizes excellence in education through its annual awards program. We ask our members for nominations for three awards: Outstanding Leader, Outstanding Teacher and Innovative Educator of the Year. Winners receive a complimentary registration to the annual conference and are recognized during the opening session. 

You may nominate yourself or a colleague. Learn more about the awards at the VSTE website and consider making a nomination. Nominations will be accepted until October 1, 2015.
