by the Guatemala Partnership Team
The Presbytery of Baltimore is pleased to announce the formation of a new Guatemala Partnership which was inaugurated by a formal signing of a five-year partnership agreement at the Nov. 14 Gathering at First Presbyterian Church of Howard County. Our new partner CEDEPCA,the Protestant Center for Pastoral Studies in Central America, is a recognized partner organization of the PCUSA. CEDEPCA's Director, Judith CastaƱeda, was present at the Biov. 14 Gathering for the signing. The Guatemala Partnership Workgroup was also at the meeting. Members of the group, which draws support from various churches in the presbytery, presented a workshop about the partnership and CEDEPCA's work in Guatemala.

ontextual, liberating, and ecumenical. It has a number of outstanding programs within its four focus areas: Women's Pastoral Program; Biblical, Theological, and Pastoral Training; Publications and Communications Training; and Communication and Exchange for Peace.
As part of its biblical, theological and pastoral training programs,
CEDEPCA oversees the Latin America Biblical University in Guatemala at both the university and Bible institute levels. The organization has helped thousands of Presbyterians in the United Stated understand the difficulties with which Latin American Christians live and to reflect on their own lives through the faith experiences of these brothers and sisters.
The Guatemala Partnership Workgroup is holding an information session open to all who are interested in learning more. The session will be held simultaneously at Central, Harundale and Cumberland Presbyterian Churches at 7pm on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Contact Deb Milcarek for more information.
