Wellness and Hospitality Services Offered During Finals Week
Associated Students will host several wellness and hospitality services during finals week. Coffee and cake will be available Monday through Thursday beginning at 8 a.m. until they run out, and again at 5 p.m. for evening classes. Free Tai Chi sessions will also be held on the quad on Monday, Dec. 7. In addition, a Wellness Wall will be placed outside of the Library where students can share thoughts of encouragement. Professor Jodi Balma has also invited Paws 4 Healing and Orange County SPCA-PAWS to visit the campus quad with several furry canines on Tuesday and Wednesday between 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Interaction with the dogs is helpful for stress relief during a busy week. President's Open Forum
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, Interim President Greg Schulz has scheduled a series of Open Forums. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend. This month's forum is on Monday, Dec. 14 from 2 to 3 p.m. in Building 200, Room 224.
FC Department Winter Hours
Fullerton College will be closed from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3 for winter break. Some college departments will be open during winter, but hours will vary.

Speech Department Hosts First of Speaker Series
With nearly 75 students in attendance, the Speech Department successfully hosted its first speaker series event on Monday, Nov. 30. The presenters included alumni, current speech and debate competitors and coaches, graduate students, and former NOCCCD Board of Trustees member Donna Miller. The panel addressed issues ranging from transferring to universities, the benefits of joining a speech and debate team, the advantages of earning an M.A. in communication studies, and the importance of possessing strong verbal communication skills in the job market.

Fashion Event Connects Students with Industry
The Fullerton College Fashion Department recently hosted Fashion Du Jour, a networking event designed for students to showcase their work and gain feedback from industry professionals. The event drew fashion design and merchandising students, parents, industry professionals, and local high school students interested in the Fashion Design program at Fullerton College.

UC Application Deadline Extended; Transfer Center Application Workshop Series Continues
The University of California has extended the application deadline for transfer students to Jan. 4. In light of this extension, the Transfer Center will continue to offer services to students interested in applying to a UC. Appointments can be made by calling 714-992-7086. The Transfer Center will also host "next steps" application workshops through the winter break (Dec. 10 - Jan. 29) for students who have recently applied to UC and CSU campuses. Veterans: Library Assistance During Finals Week

FC Brass Choir, French Horn Club, Student Brass Quintets, Trombone Choir, and Barbershop Brass Singers will play music ranging from classical to pop. Tickets for adults are $10, students and seniors are $7 and children are $5 for this concert in the Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
The semester ends with Fine Art's Improvisation for TV/Film & Stage class performing a Night of Comedy Improv taking audience suggestions to create scenes for genres that include film, talk show, situation comedy, reality show, game show, episodic dramatic series and soap opera. One performance on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door.

Men's Basketball
After a rough start, the FC men's basketball team played well enough to beat El Camino College Compton Center 91-80 on the road Thursday night in a non-conference duel.
Up Next: The Hornets (8-3) will play in the Wells Fargo Riverside City College Tournament from Dec. 8 through 12. FC will open against Cerritos College on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m.
Women's Basketball
In a non-conference match-up, the FC women's basketball team hosted Los Angeles Trade Tech College last Tuesday night with the Hornets holding off the Beavers 71-65.
Up Next: FC (3-2) will play in the Los Angeles Valley Tournament from December 11 to 13. Fullerton will be opening up against San Bernardino Valley College on Friday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m.
Football
Led by "Defensive Player of the Year" Thomas Cletcher, 13 Hornet players were selected for the 2015 SCFA Southern All-Conference team. Those selected first team were: Breontae Matthews (OL), Dakota Ramsey (OL), Tim Holt (TE), Tavis Guerra (Kicker), Thomas Bouldin (Punter), Asante Wilder (Punt Returner), and Jakob McCarthy (LB). Those earning a spot on the second team were: Trey Tinsley (QB), Tirrell Gilmore (DE), Lukas McCarthy (LB), D'Angelo Ross (DB), and Marcus Kirkpatrick (SS).
