Testing Begins on RAPSS; Mandatory Use for All  New NIH Proposals Begins with Proposals Due June 5

User-acceptance testing on the new Research Administration and Proposal Submission System (RAPSS) by departmental staff and invited faculty began last week in Camden. Testing will be conducted in Newark and New Brunswick in the coming weeks. Initially, RAPSS will be limited to submission of new grant proposals to the National Institutes of Health, starting April 29. All faculty members who plan to submit a new proposal to NIH must use RAPSS and should notify their grant specialist immediately. Users also should attend a training session at least two weeks before the proposal due date. Read more here.

Rutgers Becomes a Early Partner of Benefunder, an Innovative means to Seek Research Funding

The Office of Research and Economic Development recently signed an agreement with Benefunder, an organization that works with wealth management firms to connect donors with top researchers across the nation. Through the new collaboration, faculty universitywide will have access to Benefunder's unique funding platform. Rutgers joins other leading institutions, such as Syracuse University, UC San Diego and the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, Calif., that have partnered with Benefunder. Scopus Available to Rutgers Community

Rutgers' libraries now offer Scopus, the largest and most comprehensive multidisciplinary citation and abstract database of peer-reviewed literature including scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. 
Researchers can use Scopus to determine the impact of specific authors, articles and journals. It contains over 55 million records and nearly 22,000 titles, and 5,000 publishers with strong coverage in the physical sciences and health sciences, followed by the life sciences, the social sciences and humanities. Integration Vaults Nursing into Top 25

U.S. News and World Report ranked Rutgers School of Nursing (Newark and New Brunswick) 25th among graduate schools of nursing in its recently published survey. The strong showing placed the school in the top 10 percent following Rutgers' integration with the nursing program at the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. More here.

New Dean in School of Health Related Professions

Gwendolyn Mahon has been chosen as dean of the Rutgers School of Health Related Professions. Since 2011, she has served as the school's associate dean for administration, while also fulfilling other roles within Rutgers. Read more here.

Foundation Offers $50,000 to Help Improve Health Care in New Jersey

Teams from a variety of disciplines at Rutgers will be submitting their solutions for the Health Care Delivery Challenge. Make sure your team is one of them and help improve health care or reduce costs for vulnerable populations on our state. The winning team will receive $50,000 and a chance to pilot its technology in a clinical setting. The Challenge is open to everyone in the Rutgers community. Proposals are due April 3. Three finalists will present their proposals to judges and attendees at the award ceremony on April 22 on Douglass Campus. One winner will be selected to win the $50,000 for implementation. To learn more, visit the challenge page.
